The workbook charts, without the ruler and the guesswork.
All 11 performance and loading charts from the CASA workbook, rebuilt so you can type in the conditions from a question and see the reading lines drawn on the original chart. Use it to check the answers you plotted by hand, and find exactly where a line went wrong.
Built by a student pilot, for checking my own work.
During CPL theory, every performance and loading question meant a ruler, a sharp pencil and a line across a chart printed on A4. If a line drifted by a millimetre, the answer came out 20 kg off, and I couldn't tell whether the chart reading was wrong or the maths was.
So I digitised the charts. Each one is the original CASA figure, with the reading lines plotted from the numbers you enter. Put your pencil working next to it and you can see which step went wrong.
It doesn't replace practising on paper, because the exam is still on paper. It's for checking your work at the end of a long study session, when there's no instructor around.
Same figures, same page numbers, worked step by step.
Pick the figure
Charts use the same figure numbers and page references as your workbook, so you can go straight from the question to the chart.
Enter the conditions
Pressure height, temperature, runway surface, slope, wind or the aircraft loads, as given in the question.
Compare the trace
Each step of the reading is drawn on the original figure. Line it up with your pencil working and the worked answer.
Every chart from the workbook's performance and loading sections.

Before you buy
Is this approved by CASA?
No. It uses figures from CASA's RPL, PPL & CPL (Aeroplane) Workbook, which CASA publishes under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence. MyFlightPlanning isn't affiliated with or endorsed by CASA.
Can I use it in the exam?
No. In the exam you use the paper workbook given to you by the invigilator. This is for practising and checking your working beforehand.
How accurate are the readings?
They're digitised chart readings, so they're about as accurate as a careful hand reading of the same chart. They may differ slightly from the workbook's worked answers because of graphical rounding, and anything plotted outside the printed chart area is marked as illustrative. They are for exam study only and must not be used for real flight planning.
Which version of the workbook?
Version 3.0a, dated 2 December 2021, which is the version for exams from 2 December 2021 onwards. The figure numbers and page references match that edition.
What happens after I pay?
You're sent straight back to the site and the charts unlock on that device. Your licence key is also emailed to you. To use another device, open the charts there, choose "I already have a key" and paste it in.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, in any modern browser. It's easiest on a laptop or tablet, where the chart and the inputs fit on screen side by side.
What if it doesn't help me?
See the refund policy. If something isn't working, email us via the address on your receipt.
